Hey there, I'm db.
Artist. Fine art photographer. Maker of quilts. Iced tea drinker. Mom to 2 boys & 3 dogs. Wife to Andy. Southerner. Believer. Bona fide Turtle Rescuer. I’ve been helping, teaching & facilitating creativity in others for over 20 years, as a homeschool mom, private school art teacher, adjunct professor & professional artist.
And – I was “that” mom just a few years ago.
My life was busy and full, but under the surface I was lost and overwhelmed. I was so exhausted & emotionally spent that I mentally shut down without physically stopping. I thought I was moving through the days without thinking or feeling, but then the panic attacks began. Let’s just say it wasn’t pretty - until it was.
Here’s what happened… I went from the stress of too much noise to unexpected quiet almost overnight. With no forethought, I picked up an old book & began to write my story without words & without order, on top of words that someone else had written long ago. I don’t know how long I sat there the first day. No one was here to keep time.
Something just poured out of me; feelings became images & I became me again. My brain & my heart reconnected with my Self in a way that I had missed for so long without even knowing it!
That experience was a new beginning for me – an open door to empowerment and healing through a simple, creative practice. Now I’d like to share this experience with you, wherever you are.

I felt no confidence in a creative or artistic ability within me but db made it so easy that afterwards I felt as though I had a deep cleansing from inside out. This caused such great excitement to surge within me once again!

DOODLING
I've found using a writing tool to make marks can be very meditative. I'll demonstrate in real time some simple doodling techniques that you can practice anytime, anywhere, to help you de-stress & decompress.
