FEELING DISCONTENT?

ARE YOU IN THE MIDST OF RAISING KIDS?  Still in the ‘feathering-the-nest’ phase of life?

Let’s be honest.  As a mom, you’ve got the best job in the world – and the hardest!  At the end of a long day of doing for others, you’re probably feeling

*stressed * spent * overbooked * overwhelmed * under-appreciated * and disconnected from who you used to be

And then there’s… “MOM-GUILT.”

You know the dilemma –If you spend time on the kids, then the house falls apart and it’s cold cereal for supper.  If you spend time on the house, the kids spend too much time in front of a screen.    Heaven forbid you spend some time on YOU…that’s when mom-guilt comes at you from all directions.

Some studies have shown that 9 out of 10 moms struggle with feelings of guilt, isolation from others and disconnection from themselves.

Feeling discontent?

Hear this:  “It doesn’t have to be that way.”

I'M DONE WITH DISCONTENT!

FEELING DISCONNECTED?

ARE YOU AN “EMPTY NESTER”?  Have your kids grown & flown?

Many moms struggle with their self-identity after years of putting family first. Years of rushing through life on auto-pilot can leave you feeling numb and even a little lost.  Well guess what?  That’s OK.  You now have the opportunity to turn struggle into strength, and to make this part of your journey simply splendid.  (And beautiful – did I mention beautiful?)

Seriously, there’s no limit to just how beautiful & rich these years can be.  You now have the luxury of reflection.  What is it that brings you joy?  Refreshes you?  Stirs your soul?  Who are you, now?

If you’ve spent years ‘doing-for’ & ‘caring-for’ others, always putting yourself last, then those simple questions might be really tough to answer.

Feeling disconnected?

Hear this:  “It doesn’t have to be that way.”

ARE YOU READY?

Your kids need you…your family needs you…YOU need you, but you can’t pour anything out of any empty cup, right?

The best gift you can give you and your family is a well rounded you.  (Not talking about the kind of well rounded that comes from too much chocolate!)

What if I told you that in just a few hours a month you can:

*increase your sense of personal fulfillment!

*improve your sense of mental well-being!

*renew your passion for daily life!

*reconnect with that person you used to be, before you became a mom!

COUNT ME IN!

Hey there, I'm db.

Artist. Fine art photographer. Maker of quilts.  Iced tea drinker. Mom to 2 boys & 3 dogs. Wife to Andy. Southerner. Believer. Bona fide Turtle Rescuer.  I’ve been helping, teaching & facilitating creativity in others for over 20 years, as a homeschool mom, private school art teacher, adjunct professor & professional artist.

And – I was “that” mom just a few years ago.

My life was busy and full, but under the surface I was lost and overwhelmed.  I was so exhausted & emotionally spent that I mentally shut down without physically stopping.  I thought I was moving through the days without thinking or feeling, but then the panic attacks began.    Let’s just say it wasn’t pretty - until it was.

Here’s what happened… I went from the stress of too much noise to unexpected quiet almost overnight.  With no forethought, I picked up an old book & began to write my story without words & without order, on top of words that someone else had written long ago.  I don’t know how long I sat there the first day. No one was here to keep time.

Something just poured out of me; feelings became images & I became me again.  My brain & my heart reconnected with my Self in a way that I had missed for so long without even knowing it!

That experience was a new beginning for me – an open door to empowerment and healing through a simple, creative practice. Now I’d like to share this experience with you, wherever you are.

This is what I believe:

I believe that every single one of us in created in the image of God, the Creator.

This is why that's cool:

By default, then, we are ALL creative.  It's literally in our bones!

My invitation to you:

Come explore the profound benefits of a creative practice.  Reconnect with YOU!

GAIL

I felt no confidence in a creative or artistic ability within me but db made it so easy that afterwards I felt as though I had a deep cleansing from inside out. This caused such great excitement to surge within me once again!

Her transparency, confidence, understanding, and caring came through the very screen with such love it was amazing. I look forward to being able to do this again. This is unlike anything I have ever seen before.

db is such a great artist, teacher, and personal inspiration! I am a bean counter by trade, but love when I get to spend a little of my time being creative.  She makes a complicated project seem relaxing and simple.

The HeARTwork Journal turned out to be the perfect creative opportunity for me! I’ve been limited to adult coloring books for several years and I felt like I was ready to try something new. DB’s artwork selections are beautiful and fun to complete. Her video tutorials are thorough and easy to follow along with at the perfect pace. Her voice is completely soothing and helps me get into a very relaxed zone and block out all of my thoughts and stress!  This tiny investment was beyond worth it after only one project. I felt so refreshed! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world, DB!

HERE'S WHAT'S INSIDE

You're gonna love this!

heARTwork

I'll share with you one heARTwork project each month that I've designed to help me cope & celebrate & everything in between.  I'll provide a video tutorial & other downloads as needed.

 GRATITUDE

More gratitude = less depression.  There's plenty of science to back this up.  We'll create a "Right Brain Gratitude Calendar" every month to encourage  & strengthen our own personal gratitude practice.

DOODLING

I've found using a writing tool to make marks can be very meditative.  I'll demonstrate in real time some simple doodling techniques that you can practice anytime, anywhere, to help you de-stress & decompress.

SUPPLY LISTS

Of course each project comes with a supply list, but don't feel pressured to go out & spend a fortune on art supplies.  You can start simple & expand & explore as you see fit.

TIPS N TRICKS

I've got a library of quick little videos where I demonstrate the techniques that I talk about in the videos.  Got a question?  Let me know & I might just make a TNT video about it!

CONNECTION

We're in this together!  We'll connect, inspire & uplift each other in our monthly "Creative Connection" ZOOM calls & in our private Facebook community.
